Designer is an umbrella term for a person who
designs any variety of things. Whether it is with a computer or a clay
sculpture knife, designers create something. Designers
come in all gadget shapes, clothing sizes, software colors and toy forms. Here
is a list of the different kinds of designers.
Commercial Environment Designer
An environment designer creates a setting that welcomes people and instills a feeling that they cannot leave without taking some of it with them.
Costume Designer
A costume designer researches and design costumes to be used in television shows, movie productions and stage performances.
Doll Fashion Designer
Doll designers create fashions that are often part of entire seasonal line for dolls and action figures
Environment Designer
Environment design utilizes a variety of designing skills and theories including graphic, architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design to make employees feel more productive and relaxed.
Event Manager
Event managers create and develop festivals and events. Since no two parties or festivals are ever alike, each event will be hand picked by an event manager.
Exhibit Designer
Exhibit Designers work in teams to design, plan and oversee the construction of exhibits and three-dimensional displays.
Prosthetic Technician
Prosthetists design, build, and fit replacement limbs, such as arms, legs, hands, or feet. The appliances are called orthoses and prostheses.
Research chef Research chef design pre-packaged and ‘fast food’ meals that consumers will want to buy.
Software Engineer
A software engineer takes the requirement of the software from the customer, analyzes it, designs the software layout and does programming and then tests and installs the software.
Web Designer
The role of web and media designers is to utilize all of the media possibilities of the web to create dynamic, attractive, and easy to use web sites.

Add and expand your list and your descriptions. Some of mine over-lap, but so does yours. A Product Designer is an Industrial Designer that designs products that range from a Airplanes to furniture to electronic products to protection devices to cooking utensils and so on.
Look around at all of the poor and dangerous product designs around-this is common problem specifically in the USA because so many manufacturers ignore this aspect of products. Ignorance and the up front cost of good design is too common and the reasons that so many products are failures.
